Getting Started

What is Teknup AI Mastering? Popular

Teknup is an AI-powered mastering service specifically designed for techno producers. We use advanced machine learning algorithms trained on 10,000+ professional techno releases to automatically master your tracks in about 60 seconds.

Unlike generic mastering services, our AI understands the unique sonic characteristics of techno music—from the punchy kicks and deep sub-bass to the dark atmospheres and relentless energy that defines the genre.

How do I get started?

Getting started is incredibly simple:

  • Sign up for a free account (no credit card required)
  • Upload your unmastered track (WAV, MP3, or FLAC)
  • Wait 60 seconds while our AI masters your track
  • Listen to the before/after comparison
  • Download your mastered track in studio-quality WAV

Your first 3 masters are completely free!

Do I need any technical knowledge?

Not at all! Teknup is designed to be dead simple. If you can drag and drop a file, you can use Teknup. No need to understand compression ratios, LUFS targets, or frequency curves—our AI handles all the technical stuff automatically.

That said, advanced users can adjust parameters like mastering intensity, target loudness, and genre-specific presets if they want more control.

What file formats do you support? Popular

Input formats we accept:

  • WAV (16-bit, 24-bit, 32-bit)
  • AIFF (all bit depths)
  • MP3 (minimum 192kbps, 320kbps recommended)
  • FLAC (lossless compression)

Output format: 24-bit / 48kHz WAV (studio quality)

Maximum file size: 500MB per track

Technical Questions

How long does mastering take? Popular

Most tracks are mastered in approximately 60 seconds. Complex or longer tracks (10+ minutes) might take up to 2 minutes.

During peak hours, there might be a short queue, but you’ll never wait more than 5 minutes. You can see the progress bar in real-time as your track is being processed.

What loudness level will my master be?

By default, Teknup targets -8 LUFS integrated for competitive techno loudness. However, you can adjust this:

  • Subtle: -10 to -9 LUFS (more dynamic, warm sound)
  • Moderate: -8 LUFS (balanced, club-ready)
  • Aggressive: -6 to -7 LUFS (maximum loudness, festival sound)

All masters maintain -0.3dB True Peak to prevent clipping on streaming platforms.

Will my track sound the same on all systems?

Yes! One of the key benefits of professional mastering is translation across different playback systems. Our AI ensures your track sounds great on:

  • Club sound systems (Funktion-One, Pioneer, d&b)
  • Festival rigs
  • Home speakers and monitors
  • Headphones (consumer and studio)
  • Phone speakers
  • Car audio systems

We also ensure perfect mono compatibility for clubs that sum to mono.

Can I master stems or just full mixes?

Currently, Teknup is designed for full stereo mixes only. We recommend exporting your final mix with all your processing (EQ, compression, effects) and letting us handle the final mastering step.

We’re working on a stem mastering feature for Pro users, which will allow separate processing of kicks, bass, mids, and highs for even more control.

What should my mix peak at before mastering?

For best results, your mix should peak between -6dB and -3dB. This gives our AI enough headroom to work with while maintaining your track’s dynamics.

Pro tips:

  • Don’t use a limiter on your master bus
  • Turn off any “maximize” or “loudness” plugins
  • Make sure nothing is clipping (turning red)
  • Export at your project’s sample rate (we’ll handle conversion)

Do you support high sample rates like 96kHz?

Yes! You can upload files at any sample rate from 44.1kHz up to 96kHz. Our AI processes at the highest quality internally.

However, the output is standardized at 24-bit / 48kHz, which is the optimal format for:

  • Streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport)
  • DJ software and hardware
  • Professional distribution
  • Vinyl pressing

Quality & Results

How does AI mastering compare to human engineers? Popular

Great question! Here’s an honest comparison:

AI Mastering (Teknup) is better for:

  • Speed (60 seconds vs. days/weeks)
  • Cost (fraction of the price)
  • Consistency across multiple tracks
  • Unlimited revisions at no extra cost
  • Testing different versions quickly

Human mastering engineers are better for:

  • Highly experimental or avant-garde music
  • Correcting major mix problems
  • Creative mastering decisions
  • Personal consultation and feedback

Bottom line: For 95% of techno tracks, Teknup delivers professional results that rival top engineers—at a fraction of the cost and time.

Will my track be accepted by labels and distributors?

Yes! Teknup masters meet all technical requirements for:

  • Digital stores: Beatport, Traxsource, Juno Download
  • Streaming platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud
  • Record labels: All major techno labels
  • Vinyl pressing: Technical specs for cutting

We guarantee your master will pass QC checks and meet loudness standards.

What if I don’t like the result?

No worries! You have several options:

  • Adjust intensity: Try Subtle, Moderate, or Aggressive settings
  • Change target LUFS: Select a different loudness level
  • Try genre presets: Acid, Hard, Minimal, Industrial, etc.
  • Unlimited revisions: Re-master as many times as you want

If you’re still not satisfied, contact our support team. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all paid plans.

Can Teknup fix a bad mix?

Mastering can enhance a good mix, but it can’t fix major mixing problems. Here’s what we can and can’t do:

What mastering CAN fix:

  • Slight frequency imbalances
  • Lack of loudness or impact
  • Narrow stereo image
  • Inconsistent dynamics

What mastering CANNOT fix:

  • Muddy or cluttered mixes
  • Off-key instruments
  • Timing issues
  • Individual element problems

If your mix has serious issues, go back and fix them first. Mastering is the final polish, not a magic fix.

Do you work with all techno subgenres?

Absolutely! Our AI is trained on a wide range of techno styles:

  • Acid Techno
  • Hard Techno / Schranz
  • Minimal Techno
  • Industrial Techno
  • Dub Techno
  • Peak-Time / Big Room
  • Raw / Underground
  • Hypnotic / Deep

The AI automatically detects your style and applies appropriate processing.
